Using the REC button on BCC

Hello BCC friends it's "your boi" tiquanunderwear and I'm going to talk a little about the REC feature on BCC. Obviously BCC is a growing blog, (879 "likes" on Facebook) and while there is great interaction and content on the site I think we can make it a little better.

The REC feature is a way to highlight a hilarious/insightful/well thought/witty comment. Also I know that REC's have been used in threads before, but I think that it should be used more to "award" a "good" comment.

This is a recent comment from a thread. As you can see in the bottom of the comment box there are two buttons, the reply button and "actions". When you click on the actions button you will see two new buttons pop up, the flag button, which is used to flag inappropriate comments, and the REC button. Underneath is an example of the two buttons.

If you think that a comment is worthy of a REC, click on the REC button and magic happens. Once a comment gets 3 or 4 REC's it will turn green. This allows readers to see comments that are funny/important/insightful. It is very helpful for a reader who reads a post a day after it was posted, lets say it had 150 comments chances are he/she doesn't want to read them all and the REC button highlights the important comments, and most likely the important conversations. Here is an example of a "REC'd" comment

This is just a suggestion from me as I know on other SB nation sites the REC button has made the blog more enjoyable.

Yeah

instead of replying with one of these “+1” I think a REC could be in order. Not always the case, but rather than having a post and then other people “+1” it you rec it, and then by eventually turning green, that in itself relays the sentiment that poeple agree or like the remark.
