Thursday Night Football, Jaguars Vs. Falcons Gamethread

Jacksonville Jaguars at Atlanta Falcons, Dec 15, 2011 8:20 PM EST

Tonight the 4-9 Jaguars are taking on the 8-5 Falcons to try and get back-to-back wins for the first time this season. If the Jaguars are unable to get the victory they will be dangerously close to becoming the first team in franchise history to be unable to do so.

Inactives:

Jaguars - QB Dan LeFevour, RB Deji Karim, CB Robert McClain, OL John Estes, WR Mike Thomas, WR Cecil Shorts III, DE Matt Roth

Falcons - CB Brent Grimes, QB John Parker Wilson, CB Kelvin Hayden, LB Stephen Nicholas, OL Brett Romberg, OL Kirk Chambers, DE Cliff Matthews

[Comment From JT ]
How do you judge a interim coach based on the Jaguar’s present circumstances i.e injuries, lack of offensive talent, etc?

John Oehser: It’s really difficult. It’s hard to see, but Tucker has done a good job instilling discipline and getting the Jaguars to practice better. The results aren’t there, as you said, because of injuries and a struggling receiving corps. You really have to look beyond the results and decidee if you like the attributes you’ve seen from him in five weeks — and before that, of course.

The worst part about Gabbert is...

We didn’t just waste a 1st rounder on him. We wasted a second rounder as well trading up to get him.

Gonna draft another first round qb this year?

Just pointing out that Gabbert

Makes a significant contribution to his level of play and that not everything is on the oline or the receivers. His complete lack of pocket presence caused that fumble. That was my point. I want him to succeed but right now he is playing poorly.

No one said that the fumble was any WR's fault

And no.. his RT getting completely beat and him not securing the ball caused that fumble. Not pocket pressence

He’s supposed to step up the game of others around him, and he hasnt done that. Gabberts supposed to be the future, but the future is real cloudy. And our last QB was at least able to make us average on offense.

Ok

twitter is why the are losing, nothing to do with 27 guys on IR, nothing to do with terrible WRs, nothing to do with the right side of the O-line being a turnstile..

If we cut Gabbert and close Mercedes Lewis off twitter the team will be great.

by Sylvester.The.Jaguar.fan on Dec 15, 2011 10:24 PM EST up reply actions

You dont have to cut him.

But you certainly don’t play him until be becomes a passer that can account for positive yardage in a game. He is not ready and until he is he should be holding a clipboard and handing out gatorade.
