Jaguars Vs. Titans: Cameron Bradfield Could Make Second Start Saturday
Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Guy Whimper missed practice today dealing with a knee injury and his status for the game against the Tennessee Titans. Whimper injured his knee against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. If Whimper won't be able to play on Saturday, undrafted rookie Cameron Bradfield could make his second start of the season.
Bradfield started for the injured Eugene Monroe when the Jaguars traveled to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers weeks ago, when Eben Britton came up injured the day of the game. Bradfield looked very good filling in for Monroe on the left side, handling his own against the Steelers exotic blitzes. If he starts on Saturday however, he will be playing on the right side of the line where he has seen limited action.
Bradfield has seen limited action on and off spelling Whimper as he's dealt with a hip injury and when he came in against the Falcons gave up a sack, but in the pre-season and his one start in 2011, Bradfield has looked like a viable tackle. If he starts on Saturday, it could be sort of an audition of sorts to be a long-term swing tackle, or compete for the starting right tackle position in 2012.

GOOD
I think a tackling dummy would do a better job than Guy “whiffer” Whimper
Take stock in your lives, but leave your livestock alone
Really hoping he does well. I’d love to see a Grand Valley guy make it.

He'll be lining up against Derrick Morgan
so this will be a match-up to watch very closely.

Can we start McCown please?
I’d rather Blaine not get killed out there. Not saying anything about Bradfield. I just dont trust our Oline at all anymore. And I dont want Blaine to become another David Carr.
I don’t think benching him for the last two games would make it any different.

That O-line.....
is not the only problem. Yes, Wimper has not played the best, and I do not know when he got hurt in ATL, but it might explaine some of the time he got beat to the inside, or not. Next time Blaine drops back, count to three, if he still has the ball in his hands, its not the o-lines fault anymore. My guess is that you will find it happens more than you would think. I am not throwing Blaine under the bus, but you should not throw the o-line under the bus. There is fault to be shared, and Blaine needs to play. If he turns into David Carr, its what he was going to be no matter what line was in front of him.
