Jaguars Vs. Titans: Time, TV Schedule, Radio Streaming And More
Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans, Dec 24, 2011 1:00 PM EST
The Jacksonville Jaguars get ready to play their final road game of the season against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville at LP Field. The Jaguars were eliminated from the playoffs weeks ago, but the Titans are still in the hunt. If the Jaguars can pull out a victory and sweep the Titans, they might be able to eliminate them from the playoffs.
Jacksonville: QB Dan LeFevour, RB Deji Karim, WR Cecil Shorts, T Guy Whimper, DE Matt Roth, CB Robert McClain, CB Dwight Lowery
Tennessee: QB Rusty Smith, FB Quinn Johnson, T Byron Stingily, C/G Kevin Matthews, DT Zach Clayton, DE William Hayes, LB Gerald McRath
In place of Guy Whimper, rookie Cameron Bradfield will make his second start of the season but at right tackle this time. In place of Matt Roth, Leger Douzable will once again start at defensive end. In place of Dwight Lowery, newly signed Akwasi Owusu-Ansah will make his first career start at safety.
The game will be locally aired on CBS and will be on WOKV 690 AM and 106.5 FM in Jacksonville and WGFX 104.5 FM in Nashville.

Just a note:
Eugene Monroe was listed on the profootball focus probowl team. not sure if this is news to anyone, but he has been a bright spot in a pretty dark year
Interesting, bc all I read is what a bust he is

koetters offense sucks
If you get 6 yards on first down then pass the ball or run a QB boot. Don’t run the same shit again.
Run run run punt
Clearly the plan is to let nick Harris develop these last two games
by Slawsc on Dec 24, 2011 1:25 PM EST via mobile reply actions
i just mean once hes past the line of scrimmage
but yes, he should have stood there longer and kept his eyes down field.
our offense is pitiful
im just hoping for a glimpse of bradfield being solid or gabbert actually throwing the freakin ball.
West and Dillard open
And Betty Gabbert runs for 4 yards and slides. I hate this guy.
Those receivers came open after he was already across the line or scrimmage
by Sylvester.The.Jaguar.fan on Dec 24, 2011 1:28 PM EST reply actions
The pocket was clean
He couldn’t of stood there a little longer and scanned the field? No. He is scared that someone might eventually hit him so he has to take off. Same shit, different week.
You even watching the game?
You are praising him for taking off and running instead of scanning the field. LOL. I give up. ALL HAIL GABBERT THE NEXT TROY AIKMAN!!!
it didnt appear that way but if so
okay cool, maybe roll out and look for a comeback route something ya know? u know its 3rd down, id rather fail trying o throw for it then run for 3 yards and giving up
Thats the game right there
We cant score for shit right now and ten points seems almost impossible to come back from
Dirk. Down 10. Now let's show them how we can run the ball.
by Slawsc on Dec 24, 2011 1:29 PM EST via mobile reply actions
You cant comment on Gabbert guys...
It’s NEVER his fault. He had no offseason. He has no receivers. He needs emotional counseling. Sliding for a 5 yard gain on 3rd and 14 was awesome.
Right: Sylvester, JaxBlaster, Alfie?
Everyone agrees hes playing like crap
My argument, along with theirs, is that when he has an offseason and talent around him, we will be able to judge how good of a player he is. An entire offseason will make a dramatic difference.
about freackin time he threw the ball but
he still looked scared for some odd reason maybe im seeing things, its apparent gabbert has a live arm we know that
Gabbert is garbage!
Bought some time and got 2 first downs… Pathetic even for a rookie!

These run plays are so elementary
Theres never any misdirection
If they are so elementary
then why do we have the NFLs leading rusher?
Gabbert was balling on this drive.
Way to go rook.

Here is what makes a QB great:
Every QB in the NFL can make NFL throws, otherwise they wouldn’t be here. The great Quarterbacks do it with the greatest consistency. He has to show consistency. That is why I don’t get geeked up about one drive. He did great. Let’s see how he follows it up.
A rookie is not a Great QB

hmmm..i usually make an herb, garlic and olive oil rub. spread it on the roast. sear it in a pan with olive oil on all sides then cook it hot and fast in the oven. usually the sirloin roast is pretty lean, so slow cooking it might dry it out. internal temp of the meat at130-135 should be med rare. never have actually brined beef..usually done turkey.

Alualu is playing through an injury that he sustained at the beginning of the year.
It was a big deal at the beginning of the season so that is partially why he isnt playing as well as he did last year. He hasn’t played great this year, but he hasn’t played bad. I want to see how he does next year when he is fully healthy.
hell i dont remember but you can search through the records on here and find it somewhere
it has hindered his explosiveness all year long.

alualu is not performing above average all season long.
and dont give me the hes hurt crap. were all hurt by now, and if hes been so injured all year why isnt he on IR if the team is throwing guys on IR for 2-3 week injuries?
it happened at the beginning of the year...
he’s healthy enough to play but it hinders his explosiveness.
I wasnt taking it as a direct shot.
I was just answering with a differing opinion to keep a football conversation going.

The one thing I really like about Gabbert right now
is that every single person has caught a pass. He’s reading the field and spreading the ball around
The re-emergence of the bubble screen.
I could see if the DB’s were playing 10+ yards off. But not otherwise. I’d also put a TE out there to block for it.
I dont think it would be as big of a deal if it ever works
but its only worked once or twice all year
just got home
if Lowery was playing, cook wouldnt have gotten that TD.

I think we have solid depth, but we need another quality starter with Mincey
Lane, Chick, and Roth are all very good players who are depth guys that can start, but I would like to see us get a starter in FA or in the first three rounds of the draft.
A really talented DE
would really make this defense even more fierce (when healthy) but I agree, its not a major need, and Couples isn’t that guy.

I keep hearing how he lacks explosiveness
I dont understand how you can be projected as a first round DE without elite explosiveness
Idk,
Size, strength and speed wise he seems to be top 10. But he isn’t a great pass rusher, more a of a run stuffer from what I have heard

Hes basically Harvey 2.0 so I would stay away if I were Gene
I would either take Blackmon, Claiborne, or the best OT or trade down.
This next drive will be Gabbert's biggest test of the game
He has played well going into the half a couple of times this year, but he would come out and be unable to make adjustments when the defense did. Can’t wait to see how he reacts.

No state income tax is nice. I would like to see us sign a DE and then get a OT in the draft. IT seems to be a fairly deep class and if our OL is healthy, we really don’t need it as much. Hopefully Bradfield keeps getting better so we have a surplus of good OL.
And to think...
that fans are giving Gene grief for spending a 6th round pick on Scotty McGee in the 2010 draft just to return punts. We sure as hell could us a play making punt returner now.

…we always do the same plays, were too predictable.

We dont have any guys left
Have of our starting defense is injured. They already talked about how it is hard to have exotic blitzes and schemes when we have people playing who barely know our defense.
i was talking bout offense.

In a sense...
you’re right but at the same time, I think a big reason we think that is because it’s the only team we watch all the time. At least it’s the only team I watch. I’m pretty sure that if you watched other teams as much as the Jags, their play calling would start becoming predictable too.
no all our runs
are up the middle, or that odd looking toss. We never go deep, and everything is always a slant, a cross route, or a high low.

We don't...
have the personnel to go deep. And the reason we probably run up the middle all the time is because our tackles aren’t the best at run blocking. Our run blocking strength is in the middle of the line, thus runs up the middle. We have some athletic tackles, so that’s probably why use those tosses so often.
Not to mention...
that with the current talent level of the offensive players we have, there’s only so much you can really do.

We cant put the three things together that
need to be done to make a pass work. Either we block good and throw a good pass which is dropped, or we block good run a good route and throw a bad pass to the ground, or we run a good route and the protection sucks. Can we ever get all three at the same time?

I know
but alot of times, you see teams in that situation quit when something doesn’t go right or they give up a big play. They have kept fighting all day even though they have given up some plays.

We need...
Z. Mililer to get over his injury issues so his playmaking ability can help open up the playbook more.
Id rather throw an interception going for the TD
Then settle for the FG. We need a winning mentality, not a Del Rio play it safe mentality.

On the bright side ,
At least we have good wide receivers!

get the sense that Koetter is auditioning to be fired?
I've been...
trying to be as open minded as I can about the situation but now I’m pulling for a new offensive coordinator now.
Koetter is awful
Stupid sweep call, then wild cat, and then a pass play where you only have one WR running a route.

The best thing about all of these defensive injuries
Is that we are starting to get some serious depth on defense.
We have so many good players on IR
that 1/2 these guys won’t be on the roster next year even if they play well. Sad :(
I like that though
these guys are playing really well and some of them won’t make the team next year. We are getting some talent all over the defense.
Looks like we can identify/coach defensive players
Hopefully we can do that on the other side of the ball next season
Agree. These are fourth stringers, and they're holding their own

Best birthday in the world
I wish I could get that many people celebrating my birthday at the same time.
In all seriousness, Merry Christmas to everyone.
Gabbert is maddening
I don’t care if hes inconsistent in his play, but I want him to play consistently tough. That was a good play, but he has to look for those things more.
He just needs to work on his touch
He’d have half a dozen more completions and 100 more yards if he hit those screens and dumpoffs consistently

That and his footwork
but I’d forgive those flaws if he stood in the pocket longer or tried to extend plays. He seems to give up on plays and to me that screams pussy. I love Gabberts tools and head for the game, but he needs to play like a man first and foremost consistently. He has the ability to do it.
Dillard is really showing growth as a receiver
He should be here next year. He is dramatically outperforming Thomas
They can trade Thomas and get rid of it haha
Get a pick for him
That last play by Gabbert just shows that we need to get him in more bootlegs because he is pretty effective in space.
Especially when you have 8 guys in the box.
yea Greg!

And to think...
I was about to turn the TV off.
Disagree
Greg Jones is a beast and he needs a bone every now and again. Hell ya big Jones!
He needs more carries and not out of the FB spot. Put him in there to run off center every now and then.
Completely agree
remember early in his career where he was the backup RB? He was a monster.
This...
is what Adam said Tucker needed, a close game. Let’s see how he responds.
Not the most talented...
but full of potential. Gene’s trademark.
Merry Chrismas guys
17 points again…its a curse!
Please please please everyone, hold off the criticism of Gabbert until atleast half way through next season.
That would be a Christmas miracle
to celebrate the season I wont criticize him all weekend!
I hope they do
He has shown he has the ability since he has been here and a lot of growth the past few weeks

Blaine did well today
Sunshine did good today, the wide receivers need to catch the ball and Blaine needs to step up into more of his throws he would be alot better.
Don't get too high on Gabbert, you guys..
We’re the same defense that let McCown look good.. :|
