MJD? He still is leading the race!

Despite a close-but-no-cigar loss to the Titans...Maurice Jones-Drew managed somehow to run for 103 yards in 24 carries and a touchdown and also added six catches for 21 more. Starting the game leading by roughly sixty yards, LeSean McCoy managed thirty-five yards in thirteen carries. He is now roughly one hundred and twenty-five yards ahead. He needs to pull a century yards next week and McCoy would need to pull 200. Go Jaguars!

according to espn.com

after they each completed their games today, MJD is up by 60, but that makes no sense since MJD outcarried McCoy by 98 yards and was already in the lead.

I did the number crunching, and in fact McCoy is trailing MJD 1437-1309. With a 128 yard lead on McCoy and MJD going up against the Colts, I am not too worried about McCoy catching up to him. The only issue comes in if for some unknown reason Jags really go into the game looking to lose, then how many yards to confidently lock up the rushing title for MJD?!

If he can get more than 50 yards

I expect him to win. The Eagles are out of playoff contention so they won’t be playing for anything other than pride. I don’t really see McCoy going that crazy.

Yes my math was a little rough, trying to give him less of a cushion. So if hes up by 128 with one to go and runs for say, 72, McCoy would need 202 yards to get the title. For once in a December the math might help a Jaguar. We will decide to forget the dead Decembers of 04,06,09, and 10 (I left out 08 because it was catastrophic, rare kind of events that year which killed that year). 05 and 07 we got our wildcards. The worst thought though is maybe 2011 is our year and we just whistled past with the hike into the rear, the hike-too-quick, too-few-plays-in-the-typhoon, and the almost-at-the-end hook and lateral
