There has been debate whether or not defensive coordinator and now interim head coach Mel Tucker could take the job as head coach of the Jaguars in 2012. It's arguable that the team's performance over the last five games could push the team's hand towards making that decision. If Tucker were to win all of the team's last five games it's hard to imagine a scenario in which he returns to his duty as defensive coordinator of the Jaguars.
Even if the team decides to hire a different head coach than Tucker in such a scenario, he would almost surely get a look from another team that's hungry for a new, promising head coach. Would four wins over the last five games force the same hand? Three?
What if the Jaguars lose the last five games of the season under the coaching of Tucker? At that point he would almost certainly return as defensive coordinator and no more, right?
