After a strong season, defensive end John Chick's year comes to a close as the team announced he will head to the injured reserve list. The Jaguars also announced that their decisions to move defensive back Akwasi Owusu-Ansah to the active roster, release tight end Fendi Onobun and sign linebacker Kevin Malast to the practice squad.

The Jaguars active roster is back at 53 with the additions of Owusu-Ansah and wide receiver Taylor Price to fill the spots left by Chick and Onobun. The practice squad though, is at seven players for now which means the team doesn't have to come to an injury settlement with anyone on injured reserve quite yet.

The roster is back to its full capacity of 80 right now, but if the Jaguars decide to add someone to the practice squad, someone will have to be waived from IR.

Chick's season ends with what has been said to be a patella injury after 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble on the year. He now represents the 24th player to be sent to the injured reserve for the Jaguars in the 2011 season.
