Recently I saw a post that said if the Rams did not pay Oshiomogho Atogwe an 8 million dollar bonus, he can opt out of his contract. Normally i wouldn't put much thought or care into that post, but it said he would be come a free agent on February 20th, or somewhere around that date. He has been a very good safety in this league for a couple of years now and he is a Pro Bowl caliber player. The reason why I found this interesting is because that would give a team two weeks to sign him before the CBA expires. If we don't have a new CBA by the draft, then whichever team picks him up, will have a step up on their competition. I feel like the Jags and Texans will both be interested if this happens and I am all for going out and trying to sign him at all costs. A signing of this magnitude could change our entire draft to focus more on linebackers and a DE or QB in the first. This is just my thoughts on the idea, but I feel like if the opportunity presents itself, then we should jump at it and try our hardest to sign him. What are your thoughts on Atogwe and him being a FA?
