Alfie's Player Ranking 44 out of 100
Projected Round: 2-3

Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 44th ranked player, Michigan State linebacker Greg Jones.

Height: 6-1

Weight: 240lbs

PROS: Amazing production in his four year career. Simply a tackling machine. Natural leader who works hard. Plays with a high motor and is tough, durable, and powerful linebacker. Excellent blitzer that can get to the quarterback (16 1/2 sacks). Is comfortable dropping into zone coverage and can deliver a big hit when necessary.

CONS: Short for an NFL linebacker, needs to show it won’t be a problem in coverage. Overall speed limits him to playing on the inside in the NFL. Struggles covering running backs out of the backfield.  Man coverage skills are lacking but also lacks the speed to drop in the zone in a traditional Tampa 2 defense. Will need a defensive line in from of him to control the trash to allow him clean paths to the football.
