Today continues my countdown to the Top 100 draftable players of the 2011 NFL Draft. We move on to my 31st ranked player, Iowa defensive lineman Christian Ballard.
Height: 6-4
Weight: 288lbs
PROS: Explosive off the snap of the football. Very athletic for his size and shows versatility getting a lot of playing time at the defensive end and defensive tackle position at Iowa. Plays with good leverage and holds up against the run. Good tackler that will deliver big hits. Very active on the field.
CONS: Very inconsistent player. Can dominate a football game or completely disappear. Misses tackles in "the trash" and sometimes plays too high allowing him to get pushed out of plays. Doesn’t really have a set NFL position. Is he a tackle on a 4-3 or an end in a 3-4?
