Developing: Wayne Weaver to Sell the Jaguars to LA Investors

Stay connected for news and updates

It is quickly developing that Jacksonville Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver is on the verge of selling the Jacksonville Jaguars to Los Angeles investor Tim Leiwke and AEG, Big Cat Country has learned. AEG is the company who owns the LA Live and LA Staples center. Leiwke met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell back in November of last year to discuss the possibility of bringing an NFL franchise back to Los Angeles. Recently, the proposed Los Angeles stadium came to a 30-year stadium deal with Farmers Insurance in the plans to name the stadium "Farmers Field". The deal to sell the team is not yet finalized, but is expected to be completed by the end of the weekend once the NFL gives approval to Tim Leiwke and his AEG investment group, which includes former basketball star, Magic Johnson. There is no known time-table yet on when the team would move to Los Angeles or if they would keep the Jaguars name and logo or change to something new.

I will update the story as it develops.
