With the 18th pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select Ryan Kerrigan, OLB from Purdue. Kerrigan lined up as a DE in college and was relentless in his pursuit of the quarterback. The Chargers feel Kerrigan can help generate pressure from an OLB position to help improve their pass rush. They sacked the quarterback 47 times in 2010, but adding a dependable edge rusher will help them maintain that pass rush pressure for years to come. The Chargers felt Kerrigan was a great value at pick 18, and are happy to add him to their defense.
