This is a story from 2009 about linebacker Aaron Curry. He was seen as the "safest pick" in the 2009 NFL draft by most. Why is this relevant? Because I cringe everytime I hear the word "safe pick". The reality is, no picks are safe. Currently, Curry is seen as a bust, because of where his was drafted (Top 5) and his lack of real impact. While base hit drafting is considered "safe", when you play station to station you still run the risk of hitting into a double play. Aaron Curry is that potential "double play" in base-hit drafting. While Curry isn't bad, he's not a difference maker.
