Mocking the Draft's 7-Round Mock Draft
Over the weekend, Mocking The Draft was able to run through a community driven 7-round mock draft. You can see the results of the 2011 7-Round Mock Draft here, but I thought I'd give you guys who they picked for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Note, I have no idea who made the Jaguars picks.
Click the jump to see who they picked and grade the draft.
Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Picks:
- Round 1 - Jake Locker, QB, Washington
- Round 2 - Curtis Brown, CB, Texas
- Round 3 - K.J. Wright, OLB, Mississippi State
- Round 4 - Nate Irving, ILB, NC State
- Round 4 - Shareece Wright, CB, USC
- Round 5 - Chris Culliver, S, South Carolina
- Round 6 - Stephen Burton, WR, West Texas A&M
There was also the ability to sign UDFA's on a first come first serve basis, as a bonus for sticking out the whole draft. I guess whoever picked for the Jaguars bounced after the 6th round.
If I were running the draft, given how it went I would have picked this way:
- Round 1 - Christian Ponder, QB, FSU
- Round 2 - Rodney Hudson, OG/C, FSU
- Round 3 - Allen Bailey, DE, Miami (FL)
- Round 4 - Nate Irving, ILB, NC State
- Round 4 - Richard Sherman, CB/S/WR, Stanford
- Round 5 - Vincent Brown, WR, SDSU
- Round 6 - Ricky Elmore, DE/LB, Arizona

I would stay away from
Jake Locker in the first round. Inaccurate QB’s never succeed in the NFL.
Can't stand the truth?
Alfie's picks would really save the team on per diem
get your West Coast Scout and your Southeast scout, BAM, done.
I voted B, more like C+/B-
But Alfie gets an A, just sayin
In your Alfie could you atleast Mock a trade back or something
I don’t feel comfortable taking Ponder at 16….24-30 range would feel better

The Jake Locker thing is scary.
He seems too meathead-ish to be able to captain an NFL team. Here’s hoping we don’t end up with that one. Ponder I’m good with though. Even though he’s a righty, I think there’s possibly a little Steve Young in him.
The Teal and Black are comin' back!
@Alfie- You think Elmore will last that long?

he was just going off of who was left for each pick
doesnt mean he thinks he’ll last that long
Royally Screwed that one up
no offence to our Jags representative, but I’d like to call into question a lot of teams representatives. I think they made a mess out of that whole draft.
Firstly, Julio Jones before A.J Green? That’s just not going to happen. And SF will likely to their best to get either Peterson or Amakumara. They have a massive hole at cb. SF representative messed that up.
Okay I get Castonzo is the top ranked OT, but Minnesota at 11? Do Minnesota fans think that if they can protect their qb a bit more that they will have success? Doesn’t make sense, they don’t even have a quarterback as it is.
Miami does have an outside shot at drafting a QB in the first, but I think they’re in a tough spot like us for getting the guy they might really want. I just don’t see these guys passing up on Mark Ingram. This guy has been talked about for years and everyone knows Ricky Williams is just about done now, and Ronnie Brown is injury prone. This team runs the ball well when Brown is healthy and I just don’t see them passing on the top ranked RB.
The Philly representative should have been tossed after his first pick. Not because of who he picked but the position he picked. Christian Ponder as your first round pick? Didn’t realize Vick was on his way out of Philly?
Finally the Jags pick, obviously our representative felt some need to have to draft a quartberback. But just like the real draft will likely go, the QB’s that are worth a first round pick will be gone by mid-draft. Some people have it ingrained in their head that we need to take a qb no matter what and that’s silly.
Your GM was SilentJag. I did my Detroit Lions.
See link below to the list of team GMs.

I’ll say this for the guy, he stuck it all the way through from what I remember. The entire draft took about ten hours of real time to complete. The guy who ran it did an outstanding job and he tried to get fans from each site to take a team. One team, the Patriots of course, even had some kind of War Room to decide moves and picks.
This Live Drafting is not as easy as it appears. My head is still spinning. Maybe I will go with light beer next year.
"I read one article, I said, 'This guy doesn't know what he's talking about,' " Mayhew said. "Then I read another one, and I thought, 'Wait a minute, they're all saying the same thing.' -Martin Mayhew 2011 regarding Draft Gurus.
V Brown / R Elmore
It would be awesome to get either that late in the draft but I just don’t see it happening.
i looked at this round by round as it went down and wanted to do bodily harm(not really but figuratively) to SilentJag
I thought he did an awful job at picking.
My draft
1 DE Ryan Kerrigan /Aldon Smith
2 OLB Bruce Carter/Mason Foster
3 CB Buster Skrine/Chimdi Chekwa
4 QB Colin Kaepernick
4 ILB Ross Homan/CB Rashard Carmichael
5 OT/OG James Brewer
6 S DaNorris Searcy
UDFAs from:
RB Taiwan Jones, Vai Taua, Nic Grisby
WR Dane Sanzenbacher, Joe Horn, Tori Gurley, Denarius Moore
OG/C Ray Dominguez, Maurice Hurt, Thomas Claiborne,
DE Christian Anthony
LB Scott Lutrus, Sydney Tarver, Marc Scheichl, Abe Kromah, Kyle Glazier, Spencer Paysinger
CB Korey Lindsey-Woods, Ryan Hill
S Chris Prosinski, Colin Jones, Jerrad Tarrant, Ron Parker, Frantz Placide
What could of happened; did.
I know...but he did
That’s using the actual 7 round draft above
So all those picks were available at the time
AND the UDFAs were all UDFAs
What could of happened; did.
I just noticed
my bad. In real life however…not gonna happen. lol
There were a lot of guys that fell through the cracks in that draft.
I agree
Got some bargains like James Brewer in the 5th and Kaepernick in the 4th and Searcy inthe 6th
Also in FA safeties Colin Jones and Chris Prosinski and guards Maurice Hurt, CB Korey Lindsay-Woods, DE Christian Anthony are all bargains.
What could of happened; did.
quarterback
i don`t think either quarterback is a good first round pick.maybe cam newton.I still think we should have drafted tebow last year.
