I am surprised nobody has done this yet, the draft is over, and actual veteran free agency seems more important then undrafted free agency, we now have some needs addressed.
Jacksonville Jaguars 2011 NFL Draft Needs(Pre-Draft)
FS, MLB, WLB, WR, QB, OC/OG, DE
What was addressed?
FS: Chris Prosinski(Will start eventually)
MLB: None
WLB: None
WR: Cecil Shorts(Will fill a gap somewhere)
QB: Blaine Gabbert(Will definitely start one day)
CB: Rod Issac(Nickel)
OC/OG: Will Rackley(May start this year, or the next)
DE: None
Needs not addressed:
MLB, WLB, DE.
Needs addressed, but needs more addressing:
FS, CB, WR
Potential Free Agents:
Wide Receiver:
Sidney Rice
Steve Smith
Malcolm Floyd
Defensive End:
Weakside Linebacker:
Middle Linebacker:
Paul Poluszny
Cornerback:
Richard Marhsall
Chris Carr
Free Safety:
If I were Gene, the guys I would make sure I signed:
If you arn't prepared to either spend money, or look at players worth a lot of money, hit alt + f4.
James Anderson
Barrett Ruud
Nnamdi Asomugha
Eric Weddle
Not only will our defense be fixed, we will be a definite playoff contender.
Anderson starts at WLB.
Ruud starts at MLB.
Asomugha starts at CB, while Mathis gets either traded away or slides over to the other side, and lets Cox sit a while. Issac learns from one of the best.
Weddle starts at Free Safety, Prosinski learns from him, and Carey gets cut.
I know this is the dream team, and though it'll cost money, it'll make us a great.
