Over on Jaguars.com, they're running a vote for the top Jacksonville Jaguars home game. It got me thinking to what my favorite home game was. John Oehser tweeted that there has been a lot of votes for the 62-7 drubbing of the Miami Dolphins in the 1999 playoffs, which was also Dan Marino's last ever game. I was at that game in 1999 and it got exceedingly boring. Maybe it's because I was only 16 at the time, but even then I can't imagine blowouts being excited.
I remember the most recent home blowout, when the Jaguars ran all over the Indianapolis Colts for about eleventy-billion yards, and by half time I was thinking about going home so I would stop spending money on $7 beers.
For me, my favorite home game was early in the 2006 season. The Jaguars beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 9-0 on Monday Night Football. While the score would indicate a boring football game, it was quite the opposite. Josh Scobee was a perfect 3 for 3 and the defense was in complete lockdown mode. If I recall, the defense didn't even let the Steelers cross the 50-yard line.
So, what was your favorite home game? Don't forget to vote on Jaguars.com, too.
