Note the top 8 teams get a pass because they sold out their stadium..

So based on Metro area size, and average attendance in 2010 this is how the teams stacked up..

The Jaguars were 11th in percentage of the city base on Metro size that came to the game.

THIRD if you only count teams that didnt sell out.

Jacksonville ranks up there with New Orleans and Green Bay as far as percentage of metro area that go to a game.

Remember and thats with Green Bay carrying the entire Milwaukee metro area in their MSA (Metro Statistical Area)

Looking at the bottom of the list for cities that Don't support their teams.. we have << Drum roll please >> with the largest overall Metro area in the NFL and one of the largest stadiums in the league. New York City proves its the WORST city for supporting their team. They didn't sell out, and less than 1% of the entire Metro area even went to the game. Statistically less than one tenth of one percent of NYC would have to go to a game to sell the game out because they are that large.. But in the end they couldnt sell out.

To put it another way.. If the NYC had the same percentage of residents go to a game that they do in Jacksonville, they would need an approximately 375,000 seat stadium to fit everyone.

Thought you all might find that interesting.
