Matt Estrada- (Safety) Northern Arizona
Marc Shiechl- (DE) Colorado School of Mines
Jo Jo Dickson- (LB) Idaho
Armon Binns- (WR) Cincinnati
DeJuan Harris- (RB) Troy
Jamar Newsome-(WR) Central Florida
Where do I begin? If you haven't seen tape on Matt Estrada, I encourage you to. He plays fearless and has great football instincts. When I saw him hitting like John Lynch in the SNOW!!!. I said that is a Jaguar. He not only comes up in run support, but he will lay you out if you catch a ball near him and if you throw away from him, he will pursue the play and make the tackle with force. If he can bring that same passion to training camp he will make the team, because the position lacks depth.
Moving on to Marc Sheichl. He was dominating has opponents and has all the ability to make up for his lack of weight with his strength(38 reps on bench press). I like his motor to go along with his 4.6 40 yard dash. If he can hold up against the run, he will be a beast. We have few DE's that can pass rush and stop the run.
Next, Jo Jo Dickson. Looking at him on film, he is a leader and is athletic enough to be effective in pass coverage. Nothing to do with football, He has a lot of hair like Troy Polamalu, so its easy to see him flying around. I like him because, he can help against teams with an receiving tight end. His 40 yard time is okay (4.7), but he doesn'thave stiff hips and showed good technique during his pro day. Will have chance because lack of depth.
Armon Binns. I saw him live during the year with Tony Pike at QB and Coach Brian Kelly was there. He is a good option to have on the field to open your offense. If he can catch consistently and run routes. He has a good chance to make the team.
DeJuan Harris- One thing the Jags know how to scout is running back talent. He was part of the 1-2 punch with Jernnigan. His highlights were 21-24 minutes long. He has great vision and despite his size, he will run up the middle and knows hot to set up his blockers. It's ashamehe will not make the team because of the depth at the position. But if someone gets hurt, watch out for this kid to step in.
I almost forgot one. Jamar Newsome. A play mayker that has the moves and can score everytime he catches it. Lets hope he can stay injury free unlike the last person we got from Central Florida(Mike Sims-Walker). Chance to make the the team or practice squad.
Lets go Jags, see you at training camp!!!!!!!!!!!
