Just four years later and the only remaining starter from the 2007-2008 draft class is 2007 fifth rounder Uche Nwaneri.
Reggie Nelson was traded last offseason. Durant, Podlesh and Sims-Walker were allowed to walk this offseason. Brian Smith, Josh Gattis, Derek Landri, John Broussard, Chad Nkang and Andrew Carnahan are all distant memories. 11 picks, 5 in the first four rounds and the only thing to show for it is a starting guard. Ouch.
The 2008 class hurts worse. 2007 at least produced one good player. This one has nothing. It is also worse because they had a chance to restock the roster with extra picks and gave up all those picks for two pass rushers that have done nothing in the NFL. Only Derrick Harvey was left just two years after the draft. Groves was traded last offseason. Thomas Williams, Trae Williams and Chauncey Washington never did anything for this team. In 2008, they started the day with all their picks, and extra third and an extra fifth.
Two drafts, 20 picks and only one starter.
