Since Kassim Osgood is primarily a blocking WR
I’d be more inclined to think they keep 6 WR and 5 backs. I don’t think they will keep both Bolen and Jones. Plus I would be stunned if Prosinski is the opening day starter at safety. One thing I am concerned about now that I look at the roster is how undersized we are at DE. Kampman and Lane are the only two DE who are capable of being every down ends. Hart and Morgan are especially undersized, It’ll be curious to see if Gene addresses that before the start of the season. There are a few more things I disagree with but those are the major ones.
Prosinski
can cover better than Greene and Carey, so as of right now he’s our best bet at FS. I like Osgood as a widereceiver, hes a big guy, he’s got speed, and he’s a good blocker. Mincey would be a decent every down player, and Bolen has talent, we have to put him on roster this year, or somebody else will pick him up.

Prosinski starting...
wow. 1 practice in shorts and jerseys and he’s a better cover man. I would not be at all surprised if Scotty McGee is cut.
I agree Bolen has talent
but he is not a better runner than Jennings or Karim. And he’s not a better blocker than Jones, he’s really a utility guy more than anything. If Osgood hasn’t been able to carve out a niche as a legitimate pass catching threat up til this point in his career I doubt he starts now. Plus we’ve kept 6 WR the last couple of years, which is why I think it will we do it again this season.
i had underwood
penciled in, but he strikedhimout, cuz we need rosteroom. And Kyle Miller will make the team, if Jeremy Cain stays on the non-football injury list.

I think
we should trade McCown, he can easily start somewhere. Carolina can use a vet QB. I say trade for a 5th, and we need to make room for other players.

Carolina has 7 damn qbs on its roster
The ONLY person on Carolina’s roster I’d take for the price is Armanti Edwards.
He's 285 lbs...
Nate Collins and D’Anthony Smith got behind Alualu, Knighton is 330, need some1 atleast 305 for him.

you really think weight is the key requirement to play the position?
Babineaux from Atlanta is 290-295.
and Babs is a beast for them
I hear about him all the fricking time living in Atlanta
i disagree
also, you have Terrance in as a nose tackle when a nose tackle is the DT in a 3-4. He is just a DT in a 4-3. Theres a lot of things I dont like about this. Mainly the 2 Qbs and 5 WRs. Add McCown and i guess we can keep 5 WRs. Get rid of a FB. Change Mosley to Douzable. Get rid of Locksley because if you only have two OLB at each position, you dont need 3 MLBs. Add a third TE because we run some two TE sets and not having a third would be insanity. Also, Turk probably won’t make the roster. Id rather just roll with the UDFA and give him experience. He seems like he’s got a good leg and I dont want to roll with a 40 something who was bad last year. Alright, Im done haha
Agree with you on the linebackers
I don’t think there is any way we keep 7 linebackers. Especially when after the first four you have interchangeable UDFA’s
Allen
and Lockley have the versatility to play any of those spots, Lutrus is a strongside LB, who I feel is a lock, he is a good player, and I was surprised he went Undrafted.

it
is still a nose, he plays between the guard and center, the other dt is between the guard and tackle, and the end is over past the end/tight end. There is a nose, he’s just called a DT.

to recap
you see ALL of our 2011 draft picks making the 53 man roster, only 1 draft pick of the Gene Smith era not (Underwood) and 2 UDFAs? With all of the free agent activity, if we have a minimum of 7 rookies making the 53 man roster, then there must be serious questions about Smith’s first 2 years if you think about it. I think most if not all of the UDFAs who make the cuts will either go IR or Taxi Squad, and at least 1 draft pick for 2011 will get placed on the taxi squad.
Yeah, these guys look great in shells when they’re going against guys in opposite jerseys and same helmets with a red cap on it, but I want to see how they play when the lights are on and the opponent wants to hit them.
Same thing I said on the other person's 53 man roster
McCown will be on the roster when the season starts. That’s not a question. The Jags also like the potential that Zach Potter has as a blocker and receiver too much not to have him on the roster.

My roster would look the same except
I would cut Montell Owens. Yeah, I know he is a great special teams guy but I just think he’s a wasted roster spot. Keep in mind, we have a large pool of special teams guys. Kassim Osgood is great, Deji Karim did good when he saw action, and Cecil Shorts and Mike Thomas can contribute also. I believe Brock Bolen is a better back up at FB and can be efficient when needed.
I doubt they cut him, but I think Owens’ spot should be given to a UDFA WR like Armon Binns, Jamar Newsome, or Dontrelle Inman. Giving us another big, blocking, redzone WR besides Osgood.
