(some sarcasm in this article. Deal with it.)
I just read on profootballtalk.com that Derrick Harvey was signed by the Denver Broncos, where he will join forces with former college teammate and current Broncos fullback quarterback, Tim Tebow.
!
(Not actually Derrick Harvey)
Word has it that several dojos in the greater Denver area are eagerly anticipating Harvey's arrival.
Apparently, the plan is for him to backup Elvis Dumervil and try to start his career that to date has been a long running disappointment after his stellar performance in the BCS Championship game in 2006. Coach John Fox, when advised that the team signed Harvey to a deal said, "I recall that BCS game, he was all over the field. I often wondered, 'what ever happened to the kid? Then I get word that he worked his way up to a red belt and that sealed the deal for me." Fox added, "Now, what position does he play again, end? Which side of the ball?"
Terms on the deal were not disclosed, but if the Kobra Kai have anything to say about it, Harvey is going to have to earn it.
Seriously, I really hope Harvey figures it out. Maybe a change of scenery away from all the Gator love will do him some good. Reggie Nelson seemed to do well in Cincy after the Jags let him loose.
