On Monday night a fan noticed Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert was sporting a knee brace on his left left. I put up the picture I was sent (right) and a slight panic occurred. "Oh yeah, something catastrophic happened," the rookie quipped to the local media.

"No, it's just all precaution. That's kind of the trend in the NFL right now because the piles do come back, there's a lot of rollups. You've seen that with Carson Palmer, Tom Brady, a bunch of the guys have had that happen so coach Del Rio just thought it would be the best idea for us to wear that," Gabbert told the media.

As I said when I put the picture up, it's just a precaution. The team ordered the braces before the lockout and they just arrived. "You could probably get one, too. You might need two," Gabbert joked with Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union.
