Ok, don't call the cliche police on me, but... Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Jason Hill seems to feel like rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert has that infamous and elusive "it". Hill was teamed with Gabbert and defensive end Aaron Kampman during a team building exercise. Gabbert spoke about his upbringing and back home in Missouri, but something about the way Gabbert presented himself impressed Hill.
"Me and Kampman talked," Jason Hill said. "You just felt something about him. It's something about him that being in San Francisco I didn't have, David shows it from time to time, but in that one instance he showed it and moreso than anything he does out on the field I think that to me said he's going to be something," Hill told reporters after practice.Hill has said some of these things are noticeable on the field of play too, noting how tough Gabbert is.
In other news, it seems Jason Hill may have gotten over the heat and humidity that was slowing him down early in camp. Hill had a nice outing catching passes from Gabbert last Thursday against the New England Patriots. "The heat and humidity has been killing me," Hill told reports. "I'm getting it together slowly but surely." Hill spent much of the offseason out on the west coast, where the weather typically isn't very humid.
The Jaguars desperately need Jason Hill to get accustomed to the humidity, since they're expecting big things from him at the receiver position.
