I'll have a full observation report from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons joint practice in the morning, but this tweet from Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union definitely caught my eye, and should catch yours as well. I was in the stands with some friends for the practice, not on the sidelines so I'm not sure the frame of reference, but I'm sure Tania will blog about it. Anyways, here's the tweets:
Blaine Gabbert says we are all making too big of a deal about his getting more 1st-team snaps in practice but I don't agree. I can say with 100% certainty that Gabbert and Garrard are in a competition to be the Jaguars starting quarterback. No gimmies there.
As I've been saying, the competition is real. The only question is, does Gabbert have to be markedly better than David Garrard, or just as good as Garrard to win the job? I think it's the latter.
