Jaguars Get Some Back, Lose Some Others
The Jacksonville Jaguars returned backed to practice today and had some players dealing with injuries return. Unfortunately, they also had some players sustain injuries and miss practice. Newly acquired linebacker Clint Session returned to practice. Session had missed time with a concussion he suffered in the teams first preseason game. Running back Rashad Jennings, who had the same symptoms that kept him out of practice last week also returned to practice.
Unfortunately for the Jaguars rookie wide receiver Cecil Shorts, who shined in his first preseason game, missed practice today with an apparently lower leg injury. He was seen walking around with a limp. Runningback Deji Karim, who filled in nicely for Rashad Jennings, left the game on Friday with symptoms of a concussion and he was also out of practice. Undrafted rookie runningback Richard Murphy also missed practice.
Safety Chris Prosinksi, who's missed the past some two weeks with a hamstring injury returned back to practice as well. Prosinski was thought to be making a push for one of the safety positions while both Dawan Landry and Courtney Greene were not able to practice. Back up safety Terrell Whitehead missed practice with an apparent arm injury, he was seen with his arm in a sling. Also banged up was corner back Terrance Wheatley, who had his hamstring wrapped.Eben Britton and Zach Miller were also still out of practice.

ouch
this is just a little scary. i dont want to lose those guys. i cant believe deji got a concussion. have you seen that guys head? did someone hit him with a bat?
at least scobee and mccown arent on the list (our ringers)
When JDR talks about a hard-hitting physical team, it stinks but all I can think about is guys getting concussions and league fines. I guess that is the current state of the NFL.
Hope Cecil Shorts is fine ;(

Glad to hear about Prosinski. The radio was making it sound as if he was going to miss significantly more time.
Funny how all three of the players with concussions all wear Revo Speeds. I swear I think that helmet makes concussions more prone. My HS team got a few of them last season to try out. All three players who wore them for us got a concussion at some point in the year.

Here’s the really scary part about revo speeds: their becoming more and more popular in football and on our team MJD, Marcedes, Mike Thomas, Blaine Gabbert, Jennings, Karim, Kampman, Mincey, Alualu, Daryl Smith, and Derek Cox all wear revo speeds

Funny you say that
I was thinking that exact thing while watching the game Friday. It seems like literally half the team wears a speed. And it also seems as if the Jaguars have the most players wearing them in the NFL. I don’t see any other team have as many of them on players.

I think the fact that it’s lightweight and the slits on the back help with the heat and humidity. My old HS used almost entirely revo speeds last year and two guys got concussions and so they use AirXP now.

Revo Speed
Revo
Regular Schutt
AirXP

The Schutt looks too bulky to be good. I’d rather wear AirXP or Revo.

never understood why the NFL did not research NASCAR helmets and adopt similar models
you think closed face helmets are the future in the NFL?

If
They could find a way to make it light, it could be a real good way to cut down on head injuries. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think NASCAR drivers rarely sustain concussions in crashes.

The XP
Is another pretty good looking helmet. I just hate the ION ones. Looks like a brick.

Think I saw the Canes wearing some in ’09 and I think Texas A&M uses a lot of them.

Off-topic I apologize
But the Supplemental Draft is tomorrow.
Terrell Pryor… yes or no?
If hip hop is dead, then it happened the day that Dilla died.

Probably not
He doesn’t want to play RB or wr (when he talked to gruden). Some team desperate at qb will take him, my guess being the colts, raiders, or redskins

That’s a smart move, on grudens segment he was stressing his preference for qb.
