ESPN's Scouts Inc. Top 200: Jaguars Sport Five Players
ESPN's Scouts Inc. recently compiled their list of the Top 200 Players in the NFL. There were actually more players listed in the Top 200 than I expected the Jacksonville Jaguars to have, and they topped out right at five players. That ranked the Jaguars with the 3rd most in the AFC South.
- Houston Texans - 8 players
- Indianapolis Colts - 7 players
- Jacksonville Jaguars - 5 players
- Tennessee Titans - 3 players
The players who made it for the Jacksonville Jaguars aren't too much of a surprise. The highest ranked player of course is runningback Maurice Jones-Drew (38th) followed by linebacker Daryl Smith (80th). Smith wasn't the only linebacker however, with newly signed Paul Posluszny (160th) also made the list. Tight end Marcedes Lewis (147th) was actually the third tight end from the AFC South to make the list, ranking behind Owen Daniels and Dallas Clark. Cornerback Rashean Mathis (197th) snuck onto the list near the bottom.
Interesting that quarterback David Garrard, defensive end Aaron Kampman, and defensive tackle Terrance Knighton didn't even make the list.

Knighton is a real surprise
I think you count on one hand how many DTs in the league are better than him right now.

but he's close to the quickest
seems like he’s nearly always the first to react to the snap, on offense or defense.

Hey
I thought he was gonna be a big time receiver even before they drafted him. The guy is a playmaker. I still remember Colts fans calling me an idiot for thinking he was gonna be better than Anthony Gonzalez.
Just lay off the
seam routes and he’ll be golden.

I'm gonna make a change to your comment
there are a lot of players that can earn a spot on the list. Who knows if they’ll get the credit for it.
Daryl
Funny considering I was saying that he didn’t get any respect and then messed up his name.
