Jeremy Mincey out vs. Buffalo with a concussion
The latest Jacksonville Jaguars player has fallen victim to a concussion, which seems contagious on the Jaguars roster right now. Defensive end Jeremy Mincey missed practice today with a concussion he sustained yesterday in practice. Jack Del Rio told the media today that Mincey will not make the trip to Buffalo. This will be the fourth concussion suffered by a Jaguars player so far in the preseason. Runningbacks Rashad Jennings and Deji Karim have both suffered concussions, as well as linebacker Clint Session. With Mincey out of the starting line up and Aaron Kampman not playing, I would venture to guess Matt Roth and Austen Lane will be the starting defensive ends.
In other news, right tackle Eben Brittonreturned to practice today in a limited capacity but will still not make the trip to Buffalo. Also not making the trip will be tight end Zach Miller, cornerback David Jones, and defensive end Steven Wesley. Runningback Deji Karim will make the trip, but right now it's unknown whether or not he will play in the game.

Do we know who is starting at RB?
Is Rashad or MJD healthy? DuJuan Harris? Murphy? that new guy we just signed?
Also is Marcedes back in?
I want to see our QBs with all the tools.

I see day 1 rotation being mostly this:
RE: Kampman
LE: Roth
Kampman comes out, Mincey goes in at RE, because Mincey isn’t good against the run, and Roth is, so Roth fits the left side better. Mincey is a good pass rusher though so will take Kampman’s spot.
So I expect Kampman to get 45 snaps a game, Roth to get about 70 snaps a game, and Mincey to get 25 snaps a game. What ever is left, is maybe Morgan or Lane subbing in.

The team has experimented with Mincey at DT in 3rd down situations this preseason. They also rotate Roth and Lane fairly regularly so that both players get a shot at the field.

Not a biggy IMO. At this stage it is more about keeping him healthy for the season
Get him healthy now and then for the stretch run of the preseaon he will work his tail off and get ready for the regular season
Too bad but he will be fine
It will give the Jags to see how Lane, Hart, Roth and the rest of the DL do against a weak Buffalo OL. If they cant get pressure against the Buffalo line, then we are in trouble in terms of depth behind Kampman and Mincey.

Im since im also in college....
Pell grants and student loans FTW!!
means we are actually hitting in practice
which might be contrary to popular belief
Are other teams experiencing the same amount of concussions?
Del Rio pretty much attributed it to better diagnosis, so I would think all teams would be seeing a drastic increase as well.
It may be better technology....
in fact I am sure it is. It makes me wonder how many times us older guys played through these types of injuries by just saying “I got my bell rung”. I hope it also an indication that this Jags team is a hard hitting group. I agree it would be interesting to see how concussions are effecting other teams.
Did you see Del Rio's quote the other day about it ?
He said something along the lines of “I never had a concussion while I was playing. But every year I had a headache from the begging of training camp until after the last game was played…”
Come on Jaguars. Make this your year!
Who was it that mentioned the correlation between some new helmet and concussions?
TealDeal where you at? This is becoming too much of a coincidence.
Good
Let the big man rest, he looked good against ATL, and in the other Preseason game, If we are looking that good, on D with our “role” players, then imagine what our starters will do!!!!
Hope you get better Jermin, those headaches suck
