The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the release of three players. The team released veteran quarterback Todd Bouman, linebacker Gerris Wilkerson, and wide receiver Greg Ellingson. This puts the Jaguars roster down from 85 players to 82, leaving the team with two more cuts they will need to make by tomorrows roster cut deadline.
None of these cuts are all that surprising. I was mentioning to a few people before on twitter, it would be odd if Todd Bouman was not released by Tuesday's deadline, since some were asking if it was odd he wasn't released last week when the team made cuts. There was really no reason to release him prior to the third preseason game, just in case. The other cuts shouldn't be much of a surprise, though I do remember some people being pretty hyped about the signing of Wilkerson.
The final two cuts shouldn't be surprises either. The team picked up an extra long snapper over the weekend because of Jeremy Cain's back, so I wouldn't be shocked to see Jake Ingram as one of the cuts.
