Freeman: Free Agents Set to Practice Today
According to a tweet by Mike Freeman of CBS Sports, unrestricted free agents, exclusive rights free agents, players who've been traded for and signed new deals, and restricted free agents who were tendered can practice this afternoon.
Players have received final version of CBA. Votes to ensure. CBA will be ratified. Players to practice this afternoon. Players are voting now, it is expected to take less than an hour.
That means the free agents the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed can practice. Paul Posluszny and Clint Session can stop shadowing plays far off in just shorts and shirts, and actually throw on some shells. Drew Coleman, Dawan Landry, and Courtney Greene will be able to step into the secondary. The idea of who will be the starting safeties will be better, since two of the guys expected to be starters or at least in the mix can actually step on the field.
The Jaguars will practice again tonight at 7:00PM and will be in shells, not pads.

Now it will be interesting to see how the qbs do in practice
Even though it’s the first practice for the ufa, they will still be better than all the udfa that are playing.

Cant wait to see these guys on the field
the defense will start its real makeover tonight…should be interesting

Somebody gets a bunch of pics or something please
I’m excited, I wanna hear what is happening over twitter, Jennings stuffed at line, Garrard intercepted by Landry.
"thanks for hating"
I think Josh Sitton already has that title.
Honestly, looking through the Green Bay roster, 1/2 of those guys look like Thor.
I want to see...
how these guys do together on the field. This defense is the perfect blend of youth and maturity at each level, which should make for an interesting watch this season. Each group has a leader that the younger guys can look to. My only concern is how the communcation between them is going to work come game time. I mean does Posluszny call the shots or is it Landry? They’re all professionals, so I’m sure that whatever communication problems that could potentially occur will be resolved without any internal strife taking place.
Im just excited because now they can develop chemistry.

Rotoworld is saying...
the players have officially ratified the CBA and the new league year has begun.
And on the 7th day, there was football!
Lol at Taylor Mays being shopped by the 49ers already… what a complete bust.

We should bring him in for a look if hes cut
whats the harm? Guy plays free safety, we have a plethora of strong safeties…

He was a 4 time all-american…how was he a bad college player? I’m not saying that I like him and I definitely don’t want to get him but I just don’t get how you can say he was a bad college player.

Yeah the guy was a big time headhunter at USC. You’d think he could at least make a decent LB.
by montanajagsfan on Aug 4, 2011 8:09 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
He doesn't gave enough bulk
Hed get pushed around playing LB
by amujic32 on Aug 4, 2011 8:51 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
He’s 6’3’’ 230lbs, how would he get pushed around?
by montanajagsfan on Aug 4, 2011 8:58 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
In my opinion
From watching him a couple times, he is top heavy, he doesnt have the lower body mass to get on a block and shed, plus he plays to high, dude is all speed , he takes terrible angles, mis reads plays, drops interceptions, all staples of his game, don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of his but he is just a workout warrior
by amujic32 on Aug 4, 2011 9:11 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Agreed, he’s very much a workout warrior. But he can still lay the wood
by montanajagsfan on Aug 4, 2011 9:28 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Now I agree on that
But how far will that get you? Players that look to want to lay the big hit can be taken advantage of and washed out of plays so easily
by amujic32 on Aug 4, 2011 9:52 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
Whay are you guys saying LB - hes a free saftey
and we could use guys to come in and try out at FS.
Fidelis Ad Mortem
We are discussing how he would do
If were to try and play LB
by amujic32 on Aug 4, 2011 9:26 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
And thats something we do not need
At this moment!!!

he has one year under his belt.
you cannot qualify him as a bust. He actually should develop into a pretty good football playr within a couple of years
whoa whoa whoa
maybe he has an issue that is bad enough for them to be shopping him around… then we jump in and grab him only to find out he was about to be suspended for being a serial killer…
yikes

Alfie and Tania are tweeting that Garrard was carted off the field at practice.
He had been limping and was being worked on on the sideline prior.

its gabbert
He’s getting rid of all the competitors. He slipped laxatives into Garrards gatorade and Luke mccown just got locked into a closet. Do you remember udfa qb Scott riddle? He failed to answer Gabbert riddle and got kicked off the team.

…And the points don’t matter. That’s right, the points are like cheerleaders during the time between quarters. They don’t mean a thing

Since this new CBA has HGH testing...
what’s the over/under on games into the season before Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews are suspended?
Fidelis Ad Mortem
HGH testing
I would worry about our own’s Posluzsny….

After the lockout many players weren’t able to even practice, however, now is the day when the free agents who were signed can look forward to some mock play time. Must be good to finally be on the field too!
