2011 Jags, Not The Old Jags!!!

This article is in reference to the latest hot topic of who is going to make the 53 man roster.  I have found that this year it is more difficult to make the final cuts because we have more talent on our roster.  In previous years there was a drop off of talent after the starters and it was a clear who was not going to make the team.
With competion at the quarterback, wide reciever, defensive end and safety position, its clear to see the 2011 Jacksonville Jaguars are not the old jags.

Gene Smith, now in his 3rd year off rebuilding has started to add some talented additions to the roster. With only a week of practice, the talent this year is so tough to decide without seeing them play under the lights. Us as fans have to just be patient and just let things play out before we pencil them in.

This is good news for the Jaguars and Jaguar fans for 2 reasons.

1. High level of competition makes not only the players better, but the team overall.

2. I believe it will increase our chances of ending our streak of falling off in December. I say that because before our starters had to play so many snaps during the course of the year, because there was a huge drop off in talent with the backups.

Also, the Jaguars were depending on a lot of rookies over the past 2 years, who weren't used to the long NFL season. Now with less rookies at important positions, we have the experience to play at a high level all season and hopefully make a playoff run.

Shot out to Gene Smith for finally putting some talent on the roster.  Its going to be the year the Jags will have the NFL analyst biting their tongues.
