Hey! Peter King! Over here!

Gee, Mr. King... How does  your dire season prediction feel now that the Jags have won their first game?

Remember THIS ?

Star-divide

Shall I remind you of your week #1 picks?

"Doubt I'll be picking the Jags very often this year. If at all."

If at all? I still have a hard time fathoming why you added the last sentence. Perhaps you could elaborate? No? Figures.

How about this nugget?

" I think the Titans will try to throw a front-seven blanket over Jones-Drew, and he won't get going in his first game back from offseason knee surgery. Before Tuesday, I thought the big Pot Roast, Terrance Knighton, and Tyson Alualu, 640 pounds of defensive-tackle run-stopper, would be big players in this AFC South drama and make enough plays on Johnson for the Jags to survive. But now, I've got to go with Tennessee. "

I bet not one "expert" picks us next week

Jacksonville Jaguars 1-0 Tennessee Titans 0-1......Luke Mccown will lead us to the promised land

by tiquanunderwear on Sep 11, 2011 6:41 PM EDT reply actions

because

we are far less likely to win compared to this week.

It's

definitely not a good match up for us, especially if Lewis isn’t healthy.

I love this franchise, but if we play the same passive offensive game that we did in the 2nd half..PK will be shoving his prediction up our ass. We played a team in disarray right now, and squeaked out a win. Yeah we are 1-0 but im not sure im doing back flips like some people on here..I dont even see us at 500 right now..we cant put anyone away offensively.

A team in disarray is a stretch

Offensively, they kept it simple because it was McCown’s 1st start. I think you will see a different gameplan next week

Yeah I agree. It was like watching Luke run David plays (though he made some of the completions I know DG wouldn't have).

Someone made a good point earlier this week that teams don’t have any tape of Luke and to use that to our advantage. I expect Dirk, now that he can focus on Luke for the whole week in the game plan, to come up with a little creativity and show the Jets a lot of different looks and plays we haven’t seen.

by Slawsc on Sep 11, 2011 9:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Maybe it wasn't david.. Maybe it's Dirk... I definitly hated the play calling today.

But the D inspires me.

Insert alot of stupid, useless quotes here...so I can get a "Nice sig man!"

You can't mention the words "excuse" and "David" in the same sentence

unless you mention “Bad Pass Protection”, “Matt Jones”, “Recivers who can’t get open”, “doesn’t have weapons”, “in 2007…” I am already starting to forget all the excuses…

by Slawsc on Sep 12, 2011 8:36 AM EDT up reply actions

Don't get me wrong.. I think McCown is = or > than Garrard....

Except on 3rd or 4th and 1… We saw that..

Yes, because his career so far supports this theory…

My dad taught me how to make meat for sloppy joes and my mom let me turn over hot dogs on the grill.

we chose to play

it safe today. i wouldnt say we played a team in disarray either. we physically whipped up on there d-line early and often. pass rush was there also. o-line was much better. hill and thomas both get about 55 yards. drew close to a buck. thats exactly what kinda team we are bro.

by crash904 on Sep 11, 2011 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Still

need to cover better deep. We need to get Lowery up to speed with Landry.

We need to start bookmarking or saving these articles from the big sports writers (no pun intended, Peter King) so we can toss it back at ‘em at years end.
I’m just ranting on King since he was so very, very wrong.

chrislt22c… I’m not doing back flips either. a win is a win is a win, but no way do i have a rosy outlook too. they better work out the kinks really fast… I’ll chalk it up to all the bullshit excuses of the preseason lockout, less practice time, “new” qb, etc… but I’m only giving them one week to work it out.

I'm blaming it on

the OL not jelling in pass pro yet. That needs to get worked out still. McCown needs to do more film study too. That frontside sack he took from the CB blitz could have cost us more.

by Ewdtrey on Sep 12, 2011 2:47 AM EDT up reply actions

I thought the team looked great

then again, I was hammered. Defense had a lot of energy, the Roth sack was a great opener.

I think we played a bit too safe, but when the running game is humming, why do something crazy?

It would not shock me one bit if we beat the Jets. They are primed for a letdown, especially considering the emotion of yesterday and the manner in which they won.

i have to pull back from my disarray comment..lol..i was a little buzzed, and think a tad heat exhausted when i got home. i guess i was just hoping this once, when we had our cleet on the titans neck. that we didnt go into lets not try to lose mode. im ok with being conservative and limited in playcalling because it was a short week and lukes first start. the offense either looked gassed or disappointed with the gameplan about halfway through the first half. they were walking around with thier hands on thier hips, and heads down.it almost looked like they were disappointed that they werent being allowed/able to put the titans away..

by chrisltr22c on Sep 12, 2011 8:29 AM EDT up reply actions

im excited for next week. ive said it before and ill say it again, i hope Koetter draws up plays that will allow McCown to go “balls out” (once we have established the run).

by jerranamo on Sep 12, 2011 2:07 AM EDT reply actions

I liked what I saw in the first half....

The second half seemed very hesitant. That’ll change as we get guys going though, I hope. I think they just need confidence in some of the guy’s abilities to call more passing plays. You have to see Luke in more live action to know what he can and can’t do don’t you? I still thought 3 runs in a row for naught in redzone was kind of silly. Take a shot on the second down right?

That goal line stand kind of turned things on for Munchak’s Tits. They became perky all of a sudden.

Hey Michael Lombardi! Over here!

Michael Lombardi not only said the Titans would beat the Jaguars this week, but he also picked the Titans to win the AFC south, um no they will be a little better but not much, and they havent a chance at winning the AFC south. Has anyone noticed how bad the Falcons are playing right now? How many “analysts” have picked them to win the whole NFC this year- whats up Sapp?

by zunklives on Sep 13, 2011 3:37 PM EDT reply actions

Peter King chose the Falcons for the Superbowl.

He’s got a such an easy job and doesn’t have to be any bit accurate. I don’t care if he picked last year’s superbowl, he’s way wrong on a lot of things and makes a ton of money.

All I have to say is

Watch the preseason. It says a lot if you know what to watch for.
