Good defense + Gabbert - Turnovers = Wins
By following this formula I believe the jags will tally enough wins to make the playoffs.
Good Defense
The Jags proved they have a good defense in week one, but against the Jets, the Jags defense was put in tough situations thanks to the offense and special teams . To a person that didn't watch the game the score looked like the Jag's defense played horrible, but that wasn't the case. This Sunday versus Cam Newton and their high power offense the defense can earn their respect. By having the ability to shutting down opponent's run game, the defense is forcing opposing offenses in 3rd and long. Which is a defense and defensive coordinator's dream. They are showing better pressure on the quarterback this year and making him uncomfortable. Jaguars defense is now the strongest unit for this team and will have to keep the offense in position to win games.

Gabbert
Some believe by playing Gabbert that the season is over. Oh noooo! Calm Down. This guy was heavily considered to be a #1 pick. A possible #1 pick should be better than Garrard or McCown. Even with Garrard, the past two seasons the Jags were in position to make the playoffs. So the Jags are not taking a step back, they are moving forward. No more 4-5 interception games. Now, Blaine will throw interceptions this year, but not in bunches like previous years where Garrard didn't give the team a chance to win the game. If he throws any where around 15 TD's and 5 interceptions, I'm Happy! Which leads me to my next point.

Turnovers
Its simple. The team with less turnovers win. Garrard over the past 3 years wasn't the best in this catagory. The majority of the jags losses came by them beating themeselves in this area and jags fans know when the Jags lose, they surely know how to lose. The Del Rio saw the same trend this past Sunday that they saw in previous years. It had to be a quarterback change. If Gabbert in the offense can avoid 2 plus turnovers games, will give the jaguars a chance to compete and squeak out a couple of tough wins.

Wins
I think the Jags can execute all 3 phases and will find themselves in the hunt again in December.
Its the NFL jag fans. You can't judge them week to week like college. Its all about who has enough wins at the end of the year to qualify for the playoffs.
