Week 3 Fantasy Forum

I want to start a weekly post where BCC members can talk about fantasy football and see what other members think. Every week we all have players we are debating playing and want to see what other people think. Here is my current problem. I am in a 16-team keeper league but my 3 receiver spots are a rotation of different and sometimes okay players, I've pulled most of them off the waiver wire. Here are the WRs I have Percy Harvin, Devery Henderson, Austin Collie and Ted Ginn Jr. I need to pick 3 out of the 4. Any thoughts? I had figured Harvin, Henderson, and Collie but both Collie and Ginn have terrible offenses currently so I'm not sure. Luckily I traded last year for LeSean McCoy so my RBs are Adrian Peterson and McCoy so they have pretty much lead me to my 2 - 0 record. Hey! I like your idea, we should continue this.

To be completely honest, I know that Henderson has been producing big time the last two weeks, but I’m still wary of him, at least for long-term keeper prospects. I don’t know everything about keeper leagues, but I’d try to drop him and pick someone else up like David Nelson. But, with your current selection, I’d go Harvin, Henderson, Collie. Harvin’s a fine play, but he’s no sure bet. Collie should get more receptions as the season goes on, but I already ditched him for David Nelson in my league. It’s just a one year league, so don’t drop Collie.

Here’s my question: I’m in a 12-team league where 20 rushing yards = 1 point as opposed to standard scoring where 10 rushing yards = 1 point. Receiving yards are standard. I have an issue deciding on my flex… I’m currently starting Ryan Mathews there, but I could also insert Shonn Greene or Ben Tate. I still have other options but I’m not really considering them. Who would you go with week 3? I’m also 2-0 starting Stafford at QB, Peterson and McFadden at RB, Calvin Johnson and Jeremy Maclin at WR, and Jimmy Graham at TE.

I like Mathews

Hes had a quality season so far and I would give Mathews the benefit of the doubt. He has three 100 yard rushing games in a row back, hes on a hot streak.

i was struggling to decide

Whether to have 3 WRs or 3 RBs and which individually to pick.

For the flex spot it was either Tim hightower, Legarrette blount or Steve smith. I have a bias to RBs but I went to Steve smith. So my lineup is: (_) is my main backups

Qb phillip rivers (schaub)
RB MJd, Mendenhall (hightower, blount, Steven Jackson)
WR Calvin Johnson, Steve smith, Jeremy maclin (steve Johnson)
TE Marcedes Lewis (dustin Keller)
Def: Eagles
Kicker Scobee

I’m in a 6 team league, I’m seeing whether my friends can handle fantasy football, its been a success so far.

Hightower has been running good but Dallas has shut down the run this year so far. Blount is unreliable. I agree with the Steve Smith play, the Jags will hold Newton to a decent amount but Smith will probably still catch a TD.
