According to multiple outlets, the New York Jets have traded cornerback/safety Dwight Lowery to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lowery has played for the Jets since 2008 and has started 18 games in the past three seasons. He has six interceptions in the last two seasons. He was selected in the 4th round of the 2008 NFL Draft as a combo defensive back.
Lowery has played all over the secondary for the Jets.
The compensation the Jaguars have given the Jets is not known at this time. I will update the story with the terms of the trade when it is made available.
UPDATE: The Jaguars apparently gave a conditional late round draft pick in the deal.
