Jaguars announce seven on practice squad
The Jaguars released today seven names of players on their practice squad, including one player that was with the 49ers during training camp and preseason. Second year offensive tackle Daniel Baldridge, second year linebacker Jacob Cutrera, rookie safety Matt Estrada, rookie running back DuJuan Harris, rookie linebacker Michael Lockley, rookie cornerback T.J. Heath and rookie wide receiver Tyler Beiler.
All of the seven players added to the practice squad went undrafted in the 2011 draft with the exception of Baldridge and Cutrera who both went undrafted in 2010. Cutrera spent the entire 2010 season with the Jaguars and appeared in eight games.
Beiler, a receiver from Bridgewater College, is a player the Jaguars displayed interest in prior to the draft, but was ultimately signed by the 49ers in undrafted free agency. Beiler was released by the 49ers on August 30. He is a 6'0, 190 pound receiver with speed in the 4.38-4.40 range.

heres my analysis
he is a very productive receiver from the d3, similar to shorts, but he is also a workout warrior. 4.38 40 yard dash, 18 bench reps, 40 1/2 vertical, 10’04" broad jump, 417 20 yard shuttle.

40.5 inch vertical with 4.4 speed?
With some polishing he could hopefully be a solid player in a year or two
Maybe a bigger version of Wes Welker?

these are all obvious
besdies the beiler guy,
The Jacksonville Jaguars hosted Division III Bridgewater Eagles wide receiver Tyler Beiler on Sunday, Big Cat Country has learned. Beiler (6-0, 185lbs) led Division III in 2010 in all-purpose yards and receiving yards per game. Beiler impressed scouts at his Pro-Day, which he held during the James Madison Pro-Day. Tyler Beiler ran the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds and a 40.5 inch vertical leap. Beiler also posted 15 reps of 225lbs on the bench press.
Beiler was the ODAC player of the years as well as a Division III All-American for the 2010 season. Highly touted Mount Union receiver Cecil Shorts played in the same conference as Beiler. Beiler created a buzz during his Pro-Day, of which the Jaguars did not attend. Currently, Beiler is projected as an undrafted free agent. He ended the 2010 season averaging 134.2 receiving yards per game. Beiler was named to the AP Little All-American team and was the winner of the Willie Lanier Award, as the state of Virginia’s top small college football player.
Beiler ended the 2010 season with 61 receptions for 1,342 yards with 16 touchdowns. Beiler also returned punts for Bridgewater.

So he played in the same conference as Shorts…
Is just as tall, but lighter. Ran a 40 that was 0.11 seconds faster than Shorts. Has a vertical that is 6" higher and he was more productive.
Shorts is projected to go in the 5th and Beiler is projected to be undrafted. I smell the Pierre Garcon effect.

Why can't he be on the practice squad while gaining the weight?
Wouldn’t that be the best place for him to do it?

Isn't the Chinese Buffet
the best place for him to do it
Respect My Authoritah
If he did that he’d gain 20lbs in a week lol

Hahaha very true they do look like a HS team. Though I do think Beiler is a good pick up.

what about Schiechl?
am i stupid and did he make the team already, I though he got cut, was hoping for him to make practice squad
More back ground on Beiler
He is the son of Ferris Beiler, who is often mistaken for the Sausage King of Chicago and who’s sister is a dirty dancer and once, briefly, dated Charlie Sheen.
Beiler? Beiler? Anyone? Anyone?

He wasn't expected to be claimed
His salary was guaranteed by the Rams and if someone claimed him they would’ve had to pick up the tab. Now teams are free to sign him while the Rams pay the remaining tab and take the salary cap hit.

wow
Now we are talking, this guy crick looks good on film, Avery is definately an upgrade over Hill if he can stay healthy, this kid Beiler sounds good on paper, and from what I understand from the 49ers page, they were “loaded” at WR(I am not so sure about that) but I still have to wonder if we could pick up Everette Brown as well, I mean 6 sacks in 2 years? and carolina let him go? have to wonder if somethings not right with him. Either way its sounds like we are trying things, to better the pathetic team I saw during preseason, but I think good players dont mean squat, if they are not motivated, or coached properly. COME ON JACK, THROW A TANTRUM, THESE GUYS ARE PLAYING UNINSPIRED RIGHT NOW, AND THATS UNACCEPTABLE, FOR YOU AND FOR THE FANS
