When the Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, both teams will be trotting out new quarterbacks. The Titans, who also selected a rookie quarterback in the first round in Jake Locker, will be starting former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck was signed in free agency after Kerry Collins retired and Vince Young was released. Hasselbeck is expected to be a veteran bridge until Locker is ready, but he's still a very capable starter when healthy right now. The last time he played the Jaguars, the Jaguars defense was shredded.
I asked Jimmy from Music City Miracles what he's though of Matt Hasselbeck thus far:
Hasselbeck has looked good in the preseason. It took him a little bit of time to get on teh same page with the receivers, but they appear to be there now. Look for them to try and get TE Jared Cook involved early. He is going to be more of a focal point this year. I would also look for more of a west coast type passing game than in years past. Heimerdinger was more of a 5 to 7 drop guy while Palmer wants the ball out quickly.
