Mularkey has shown that he is a bad HC from his time in Buffalo, so that likely takes him out of the running for the HC position. OC I cannot complian about oo much as I do beleive he will be a very good OC in this league. As for DC, I doubt he stays if he is not HC< and Spags is the new name likely to be out ther who I would love to see Khan and Smith go after hard for the DC spot on this team.

As for the FA signing, Wayne is a totally worthless pickup who would just be a waste of money for declining production. Meachem is not going to be worth the money he is going to seek as a not so former first rounder. Avril is a decent pickup in FA if it happens, and Bell is also a kind of worthlss pick, althouhg much less worthless than Wayne.

As for the draft I like the picks for the most part although with the Jags likely to be picking in the #6 range, I am not sure Claiborne is there to be taken. Luck,RG III,Kalil, Blackmon and Claiborne are quite possibly the top 5 picks in some order, and I am not sure Jags end up picking 5 or higher. I also think Kendall Wright will be a bottom of the first round pick, and so I doubt he is there. D. Jones, M. McNutt, or even a T. Streeter could be the pick if Jags go WR. I also really hate to theink the Jaguars would spend a draft pick on a punter, regardless of the round.

I think you're stupid...

…Mularkey went 9-7, and 5-11, 1 solid season, and 1 bad season doesn’t make you a bad coach. He has experience with a young QB, developing Matt Ryan. Mel Tucker will probably stay, unless he wants to be a head coach in college, their are a lot more candidates with more to offer than Tucker does.

Wayne finished the season with 960 yards, which is still good, and he lost his quarterback. Usually when you lose your starting franchise quarterback, your receivers are going to regress statistically. Meachem will ask for a pretty penny, but he’s a good receiver, and may get a little overpayed. Avril is a great pickup, 11 sacks in 15 games, some say he’s the best pass rusher in the league. Bell is an underated tackle, he’s solid at run blocking, and above average at pass blocking, he would solidify this line.

I think we’ll be picking 6th, with Indy, St. Louis, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Cleveland in front of us.

1. Indianapolis – Andrew Luck’
2. Minnesota – Matt Kalil
3. St. Louis – Justin Blackmon
4. Tampa Bay – TRADE BACK to someone – Robert Griffin III
5. Cleveland – Jonathan Martin

Wright may be picked in the 1st, but in my mock he slides to the 2nd.

I appreciate the complement

developing a QB == good head coach since when?!! Developing a QB means good OC or QB Coach. I also can tell you from both recalling him as a HC and from talking to Bills fans that he is not the type of guy you want as your team’s HC.

As for Wayne, why throw money at him when he is 33 and on the decline?! The Jaguars should look to get a top tier WR in Free Agency who is young and has good years ahead of him. Wayne is not that. Next, you have Meachem who for the right price is a great option, but I do not see him accepting “the right price” in a deal. He is ggoing to want to be paid like the #! WR he never was in New Orleans. I still do not see why a FA OT is needed. Between Britton getting healthy and in your mock picking up Potter, the tackle position will be just fine and the money could be better spent elsewhere.

Now I can say we are picking 7th and Claiborne likely is gone. Between Minnesota and St Louis Claiborne likely is taken seeing as they both could use a good CB.

He's not worthless

every NFL player can offer something to a team, and Reggie Wayne has a lot to offer.

It's inconceivable that Gene would draft Trumaine Johnson

If you want a small school CB, maybe Ryan Steed, but not a guy who was recently tazed by police.

His friend hit a police officer in the chest

and got tazed, and he intervened, and got tazed. Do you want to watch your friend get tazed? He probably was telling the cop to stop, and walked towards him, and the cop shot him as well.

In free agency I want:

DeSean Jackson. I do not care about his character, I do not care if he sometimes gets stupid penalties. I care about his deep threat ability and punt returning skills. He is an exciting player who has the ability to break big plays. That is all I give a whit about.

Kendall Wright

reminds me of DeSean Jackson minus the character issues.

I feel like DeSean is going to try to get a Fitzgerald deal, and will probably be overpayed.

Honestly, I don't care if he's the biggest jerk in the world.

He and I aren’t going to be hanging out. All I care about is that he’s a vertical threat and an explosive punt returner.

The only thing that I would change is that I would switch out Dillard and put in West.

I agree you are getting better. I was just thinking that. Compared to last year. Rhett you’re young, carry on like this and who knows be maybe you could be our GM in 2029…

Unfortunately we’ll be a Mars-based franchise and Turk will stll be our punter.

he is way too good to be let go. i still like colston more than meachem and wayne will not come here, he will go to houston or chicago, i thik gene learne his lesson on older players (kampman) although i believe wayne has some left in the tank

Avril is currently under a 1 year contract

$2.61 million, expires 2012…so I don’t know what you’re talking about.

I like Colston more too.

Only get one WR ike n FA and one in the draft. I think we need another recieving TE too. All the rage at the moment. Marcedes needs the competition.

I’m not against Osgood as a TE, what’s 30 pounds he’s a better blocker than half the league’s TEs, that’s the role he effectively plays anyway. + Special teams genius. Dump

What could of happened; did.

by Mullayo on Jan 3, 2012 3:34 AM EST up reply actions

My only probably with Osgood

at TE is we have a lot of players we like there. Lewis, Miller, Potter, Cloherty. Someone we like is gonna have to be cut at the WR/TE position next year.

by Ewdtrey on Jan 3, 2012 3:13 PM EST up reply actions

Osgood is more versatile

as he can play receiver, block like a tight end, and be a special team ace. all at the same time.

The same can be said about those other guys

Have you seen Cloherty on ST lately? He’s a player wherever he’s asked to play.

by Ewdtrey on Jan 5, 2012 2:43 AM EST up reply actions

Claiborne will not drop to 7

Yes, all of those teams COULD take the guys you gave them, but an elite CB doesn’t drop that far. We will end up picking Martin or Reiff.

by Dwalk1217 on Jan 1, 2012 8:03 PM EST reply actions

agree

we blew it. We could be trading down for ripping off an RG111 chasing team but no.

What could of happened; did.

by Mullayo on Jan 3, 2012 3:35 AM EST up reply actions

Better.

I like the draft. I think that we are Britton will be the opening day RT next year. I understand that it is not a popular but Eben will be penciled in as the RT.

I see Robert Mathis or Mario Williams being the DE that we go after. John Chick is a PUP candidate at best with his injury. I like Wayne a lot and hope he comes here but if he leaves indy it will be to a SB contender. I would love to think that the Jags are a SB contender but at 5-11 it is not looking that close.

by Jewasaurus on Jan 2, 2012 3:46 AM EST reply actions

I wouldn't be so sure about

Chick taking that long to recover. It really depends on the injury. The injury that was described can be wide ranging in nature.

As for the PUP, I hope we use it to the best of our ability. I really wished we had put Aaron Kampman on PUP this year. I thought it would have been best to have been safe rather than sorry. We usually lose a couple DE’s throughout the year. We might as well stash a few on PUP so that we can add a little pseudo-depth as the year progresses.

Bring in a better backup QB

McClown is a joke. A stronger veteran presence in camp to push Gabbert would be better.
