I want Bowe not Wayne

by jagsfan219 on Jan 10, 2012 11:29 PM EST reply actions

Bowe?

He drops alot of balls, seems slow to me, and seems to have character flaws(drops alot of passes should be enough to discount him, we dont need MORE ball droppers) Wayne catches balls, runs great routes, and seems to hardly ever get his ire up(in other words he is a team guy, something bowe seems to take or leave) Wayne is older, but how many 1000 yd seasons does he have?(including THIS year) how many does bowe have(including this year?) Wayne is older, but should come cheaper, and yes I know how holt and the others worked out, but it makes more sense to me to get him then bowe

Think you meant Kirkpatrick

We have completely different views on WRs. Other than that, I like it.

I wouldn't like this very much

You don’t bench a promising OG.. The issue on our OL was predominantly not having a RT that can stay healthy. If you can grab a guy in FA to address that then do it or else draft a guy. I can’t see Britton staying healthy and I don’t want to spend big bucks on a G when we have a young promising one and a guy in Uche who is a very good player. Also, why draft another G???

by Dwalk1217 on Jan 11, 2012 12:37 AM EST reply actions

Agree about drafting another guard

But there’s a lot of unsure guys on our inner line. For all we know Rackley could be playing center. Maybe Uche will. What if we cut Britten? What if Meester isn’t good for another year? The only sure guy on the interior of the line is Nwarni. I’d sign Nicks and cut Britten all day long. Incase you don’t know, Nicks is an All-Pro quality 26 year old Guard. His value trumps Rackley starting.

Re: Wayne and Douglas.

I don’t think I really want either of those guys.
Douglas is an effective slot receiver, but he doesn’t strike me as the kind of player who can get off the jam and be effective on the outside.
Wayne is old and at the end of his career. The team has already tried drafting players (albeit late round guys) to fix the spot. If Smith is going to spend on a WR, he’s going to spend on a WR, who still has enough of his career in front of him that he’ll be a solution at the position and not a patch.

Gene followed a FA formula this past year

the main criteria was getting ascending, young players (even if they cost more).

by CheapSeat on Jan 11, 2012 10:19 AM EST up reply actions

Better options would probably be Dwayne Bowe or Colston, with Meachem as a 2nd level guy that seems more Gene’s speed. One of the two Saints WRs will probably be resigned. Not sure on Bowe.

bro for the millionth time

avril is NOT AVAILABLE IN FREE AGENCY! he re-signed over 2 months ago. mario williams or robert mathis will be our “Big” pick up in free agency. i expect 2 recievers to be added also but not wayne. he will go to houston IMO.

by crash904 on Jan 11, 2012 4:42 PM EST reply actions

IM SO WRONG.

my bad i kept getting him confused. smh

by crash904 on Jan 11, 2012 4:44 PM EST up reply actions

by the way

we wont pursue a starting caliber guard. gene drafted rackley to be our Carl nicks. and i dont see us only having 5 recievers on the active roster. dillard will stay.

Harry is an older version of Mike Thomas.

Why do people think he can play outside(or stay healthy to boot)?

by SilentJag on Jan 11, 2012 7:54 PM EST reply actions

Slightly older version*

DERP.

Brain seemingly can’t process anything tonight.

by SilentJag on Jan 11, 2012 7:56 PM EST up reply actions

I don't want Wright.

He’s too small, we need tall receiver so we can outplay the CBs. Plus, M80 is too short, 5’8". We need a 6’3"+.

It's All good!
