Bobby Johnson Will Interview With Jaguars, According To A Source
The Jacksonville Jaguars will interview Buffalo Bills assistant offensive line coach Bobby Johnson on Monday, according to a source. Johnson has been with the Bills for the past two seasons working at the University of Indiana prior to getting a position in the NFL. Johnson is credited with developing current NFL draft picks Rodger Saffold (St. Louis Rams) and James Brewer (New York Giants) while he was with the Hoosiers.
Prior to Johnson coming on board with the Bills, the Bills offensive line gave up 42 sacks in 2009. In the 2010 season the Bills gave up just 27 sacks. In the 2011 season, the Bills gave up 22 sacks. While the direct effect of Johnson isn't directly known, each season he was there the Bills gave up fewer and fewer sacks while also maintaining an effective rushing attack. The Jaguars have also been linked to Arizona Cardinals offensive like guru Russ Grimm, but he is currently under contract with the Cardinals.

Must be a good coach
Sacks have decreased dramatically in Buffalo under his name. Maybe he has a specialty in pass pro. Buffalo doesnt exactly have Pro Bowlers on their line either – wouldn’t mind this hire.

bills actually have quality lineman
Pro bowlers? Not quite. But when all starters are healthy, they work very well together. I live in ny, and up watching the bills a lot.

the O-Line is not enough in disrepair for it to be more of a priority than WR
not saying it cannot afford to get a whole lot better, but WR is still much more of a concern

100% Agree......
O-line, though as you said could get much better, is not as bad as everyone made them out to be. Mr. Gabbert did not help himself on more than one occasion, and the WR were lazy and horrible!
Joe D'Alessandris

Much of the Bills’ success in reducing their sacks allowed totals is credited to Chan Gailey’s passing attack, which features a lot of three-step-and-fire throws for Ryan Fitzpatrick. (Which is part of the reason he throws so many picks, as well.)
D’Alessandris gets credit, too, for having guys ready to play, because Gailey likes to rotate his linemen on game days. He’s used two left tackles (or two guards) in one game on numerous occasions, rotating them like an NBA player would be subbed out. That’s not easy to do, but the Bills have generally pulled it off well.
