Jags retain Spicer and Blaney... And add a former player as an assistant

They added Marlon McRee as assistant secondary coach. If I remember correctly, he was a decent player. Could be wrong, just don't feel like looking it up.

Still no word on the ST coordinator position though. All I've heard is that Zook was interviewed. Why is it, though, that people think Zook will be a good recruiter? Recruiter?? In the NFL? Big difference is there is no real recruiting in the NFL, it's mainly about the money.

I think its kinda weird

that they would hire an assistant secondary coach before they hire the actual secondary coach

Maybe they already got a coach...

and they waiting to announce him til after the Playoffs/Super Bowl, though I don’t know who’d that be.

According to Prisco...

Supposedly they have one guy in mind that they are going to talk to that they like better than Keenan. Prisco was really high on the guy. I wish I could remember the name or the team he works for now, but I’m drawing a blank.

That said, it sounds like they like Keenan (and he’s definitely a Gene type guy – hard worker, etc.) and he’d be a hire if this better guy doesn’t work out. I know it sounds like a slap in the face, but if anyone is bigger than that – it’s Keenan.
