Harry Douglas: A Jag?
Even before Mularkey was named HC, Douglas was one of those guys out there who I felt could very well become a jag. Now that Mularkey is the Head Coach, I think it almost definitely does happen.

I loved Douglas in college and thought he would be a great pro.
But he gets injured too often. Great potential, but I would pass.
At the NFL level
all I see in terms of injury is one year of IR. considering he has been around for 4 seasons, that is not terrible. he was in all 16 games in the other 3 years. Not really getting injured too often if you ask me.

What would be his role?
This guy is a slot receiver maybe a #2. I just don’t believe hes a #1 as hes was shut down quite a bit when he did get a chance.
It seems likes he only shines in the preseason. I am just not sure he is the answer to our problems at WR.
so just becuase hs is not a #1 he is not a viable option?
this team needs upgrades at each and every WR spot.

Why Cut Thomas
So he had a bad year.. last time I checked everyone on offense had a horrendous year with the exception of MJD
big contract

In todays NFL
His contract is pennies on the dollar….
Based on that premise, would should also be cutting Marcedes Lewis as well. He had a bad year; the year before he was just fine and everybody was saying how great he was. So what changed this year? he got a bad QB and a position change. If you cut everyone on your team that had a bad year and allegedly has a big contract you wouldn’t have a team
Marcedes was still
the best blocking tight end in the league. He earned half of that money.

The question I have about Douglas is
does he still make plays and get open without guys like White, Jones, Gonzalez consistently drawing coverages away.

I think it went from possible to likely
If no one is paying him, why not? He may be important up front as he’s already familiar with Mularky and it may spike his confidence. I expect he’ll be about as hot on the market as Jason Hill is. To an outsider’s perspective, the latter may even sound better.
I don’t think Douglas is as good as everyone keeps trying to make him. He’s just another guy, right now. Statistically, he had 6 fewer receptions, same amount of touchdowns and 100 more yards than Mike Thomas this year. Jones missed 3 games and both he and White missed some playing time through the year in games they played in.
from a fan's point of view
yes he’ll be as hot on the market as Jason Hill. But to coaches and front offices they know what he’s capable of, and he won’t be a first day immediate call guy, but will no doubt get quite a few calls.

And everyone mentions him not staying healthy,
but he has played every game in the last 2 seasons. And remember he’s playing behind two receivers who combines for over 2,100 yards, and a tight end who had 875 yards. No wonder why he didn’t get that many receptions/yards, they always had these guys on the field, and he wasn’t in as much of them. If he started in Atlanta, I’m sure he would of got atleast 800 yards.
