Coaching staff finally filled out?
from Tania at the Times Union..... HERE
I don't think they were looking to renew Richesson's contract anyhow. Can you imagine giving a new contract to the guy responsible for keeping players healthy when you have nearly half a teams worth on injured reserve? And, before some of you say it, do not blame the lockout. A good coach finds ways to help once camps are open and has a plan for them to follow in the off-season whether it's at the team facilities or not.

seriously
you should write them a letter asking what it takes to be a scouting intern, or whatever position you’re interested in…

Its not his job to keep them healthy
Its his job to get them in the best shape he can, if there was a way to prevent players from getting injured I think everyone in the league would be doing it. And just because you have a plan doesn’t mean the player is going to follow it.

well
it would seem that they obviously were not in good enough shape if so many of them were getting injured

You can't put the teams entire injury situation on Richesson
A bunch of guys landed on IR because they were hurt to late in the season to comeback, I’m sure a couple of guys were stash jobs by Gene. And some injuries have nothing to do with conditioning like Mathis’ ACL, Kampman’s reaggravation, Chick’s patella tendon, both Session’s and Roth’s concussion. This is the NFL and injuries happen.

unless someone here is the team doctor, then the injuries you mentioned could be due to poor conditioning… true it’s not all richesson’s fault, but when it’s your job to keep guys ready to go and 26(?) go to IR, then you become the scapegoat… just like when JDR got fired, it wasn’t ALL his fault, but it fell under his realm…
sure guys get hurt in the NFL, but nearly half a team’s worth??

it’s not his job to keep them healthy, but it is his job to get them in the best shape he can? you have to do one to achieve the other.

The Packers were pretty healthy this year
using the same strength and conditioning coach they had during their injury riddled season last year. We’ve had Richesson for a couple of seasons now, and nothing from those seasons would lead me to believe that we’ve had problems with injuries more than any other team.

Being in the best shape you can
and getting injured are two different things.
