The first opponent for the Jacksonville Jaguars in their four-game London series was announced earlier on Thursday by Jaguars owner Shad Khan in a press conference in London. Khan and the NFL announced that the Jaguars will take on the San Francisco 49ers on October 27, 2013 in Wembley Stadium.
It's the first of four trips for the Jaguars in London, as Khan is trying to grow the footprint of the team and it's fan base, and volunteered to be the team to take on playing some games in London.
This will count as a "home" game for the Jaguars which limited the options for their opponent to the Texans, Colts, Titans, Chargers, Chiefs, Cardinals, and 49ers. There has never been a divisional game matchup played in London during it's series, so most speculated it would be either the Chiefs or 49ers that would be the opponent.
This will be the 49ers second trip to London in the past four years, as they played the Denver Broncos in Wembley in 2010.
