The Jacksonville Jaguars were afraid Maurice Jones-Drew might have a Lisfranc injury in his foot, but according to a report it's just a sprain.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has a foot sprain and not the dreaded Lisfranc injury, according to a report by ESPN's Adam Schefter. Per Schefter, Jones-Drew does not need surgery to repair his foot, but will still likely be sidelined for a couple of weeks while he deals with the foot sprain.
Jones-Drew injured his foot on his first carry from scrimmage against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and went one more play before going to the sideline. Jones-Drew's injury didn't even really look like an injury at first, as he was sitting on the bench on the sideline getting his foot re-taped.
After not coming back into the game, Jones-Drew emerged from halftime without his pads and uniform on in crutches with a boot on his foot. Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said the boot on Sunday was precautionary, but he would likely be out on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
