Do you believe what they are saying, or do you believe your eyes?

All along people involved with the organization have been saying it will take a while to install. From Lee Evans to Mularkey to Oesher. They've said it probably won't click until the last half of the season. Are we just being impatient?

Look at Mularkey's stint with the Bills, they went 1-4 before they finished the year with a 6 game winning streak. Is it really out of the realm of possibility that we end up the year with a six game winning streak ourselves? If the team gets better, and the offense starts clicking all of the last games look winnable other than New England. Tennessee twice, Buffalo, Jets and Miami. I know it looks really bad right now, and like there's not much hope at all. But if we win 1 of the next four (Oakland, GB, Detroit and Indy) none of which look as good as Houston has looked or Chicago, and finish off the season with 5 of 6 wins, that puts us at a 7-9 record which is in the range of what most of us expected.

Let go of some of your rage and look at the first half of the Chicago game, if we play just a little better than that doesn't that give us a pretty good shot to beat teams like Oakland, Detroit, Indy, Tennessee, Buffalo, Jets or Miami? No one promised it was going to be pretty early, in fact everyone pretty much cautioned that it would be the opposite.

Let me be clear, I don't expect us to win 7 games. But I think it's possible. If we can believe what they are saying. If Mularkey, Evans, Oesher and history are right and it takes a while to get this offense clicking, we could be looking at a very different team at the end of the year than what we see right now.

Gabbert does look better than he did last year. He's not vastly better than last year, but he is much improved. Shorts looks promising, Blackmon looks promising, a healthy 1-2 of Mojo and Jennings looks promising, a bit of time for the OL to gel and start working better as a unit. Someone to step up and start getting after the QB on D, Smith back in the lineup and another LB to step up. Cox and Mathis back to 100%(which I don't think they are). And most importantly the team isn't giving up, they aren't laying down for the season. They apparently are buying into the Mularkey. <grin>

Maybe it's my teal glasses but if I believe what they are telling me then there is some hope. If we end up the year and we aren't looking much better than we are right now then that's a huge problem and we should blow things up, at least we'll have a pretty high draft pick. For now I'm just going to enjoy the games with my friends and family, and hope for better days soon.
