Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey announced at his press conference on Monday that Chad Henne will start at quarterback against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Mularkey indicated that Henne earned another start based on his performance against the Houston Texans.
Henne came in for Blaine Gabbert on Sunday after Gabbert took a shot to his throwing elbow and couldn't get back into the game. Henne ended the day throwing for over 350 yards and four touchdown passes in the 43-37 overtime loss, the Jaguars third overtime loss this season.
Mularkey noted that Gabbert will be questionable for Sunday's game and has issues with gripping the football with his hand, but Henne will start regardless because of his play against the Texans. Henne hasn't started a game since Week 4 of the 2011 NFL season, the game in which he injured his shoulder that knocked him out for the rest of the season.
The Jaguars signed Henne to a two-year deal in the offseason to be the Jaguars backup quarterback.
