Jaguars' Landry fined $21,000 | jacksonville.com

The league announced Friday that Jaguars safety Dawan Landry was fined $21,000 for hitting "a defenseless player in the head and neck area," against Houston. The hit came on Texans tight end Garrett Graham after a 19-yard reception in the fourth quarter. This was Landry’s second fine in as many games. He was $10,000 for his hit on Colts quarterback Andrew Luck in the Nov. 8 game.

Jaguars Notebook: Andre Branch working on run defense | jacksonville.com

The main beneficiary of the Jaguars’ depleted defensive line group early in the season was rookie Andre Branch. In the first five games, the second-round pick averaged 53.8 snaps. But the return of defensive ends Austen Lane, George Selvie and John Chick combined with little production (12 tackles in those five games) has reduced Branch’s role. Entering Sunday’s game against Tennessee, Branch has averaged 17.6 snaps the last five weeks.

10 things: Titans vs Jaguars

We’re long since past "fluke." Two or three games and maybe you write it off as coincidence, but at five, you figure maybe there’s something to this home and away thing facing the Jaguars. Five home games – five one-sided losses; five road games, three overtime losses, a victory and a hard-fought loss at Green Bay. Weird.

Palmer ready if needed

Jordan Palmer liked a lot about what he saw from the Jaguars this past week. And yes, Palmer – who re-signed this week to be the backup quarterback amid a week of change at the position – indeed watched the Jaguars last Sunday, as he watched them pretty much every game this season. One, he had a lot of friends on the team. But as importantly, he said he wanted have an idea what was going on with the team in case what happened this past week happened. He wanted to be ready if needed.
