I've enjoyed reading the various mock drafts, but as I read them, I've come to the impression that others might like our QB situation better than I do. Maybe I'm missing something. Let me give you the background to how I'm thinking:
I believe you need a franchise quarterback to compete year in and year out in the NFL.
I'm also a Vikings fan, having grown up there, and the Vikes have struggled for a couple decades with the QB position. We love getting hand-me-downs from other teams (see: Favre, Brett; McNabb, Donovan; Cunningham, Randall; McMahon, Jim... and more). Some of them have been good for a year or two. Others have been miserable failures. All along it kept the Vikings from addressing the real need for a QB.
I feel like the Jaguars are in the same position. We can talk until we're blue in the face about Gene Smith, the D-line, the draft, rebuilding, etc.
But who will be our QB?
Do you believe Gabbert or Henne could develop into a franchise QB? Are you ok with gambling the next year or two on those guys?
I've created a poll and am curious for your answers and your thoughts.
