Alex Smith after 5 years or struggles has really put two solid seasons together, especially this year. 70% completion rate 13 tds - 5ints 1700+ yds in 9 games. Now I know stats do not tell the whole story, as they can be misleading. For anyone who has watched the 49ers the past two years, you have seen Alex Smith grow from a Game Manager to a QB, now he of course is not a Tom Brady or Peyton Manning but he is currently far superior to Gabbert and Henne. Alex Smith would be 29 starting next year so while he certainly is not young he isn't old for the QB position, he should have a good 5 years of play time left in him at least. This would give us a solid QB so we could draft a QB and actually take time to develop them.

Maybe I am crazy but I say Mr. Khan go get Tom Gamble and Mr. Gamble bring Alex Smith along with you, the Jaguars would LOVE to have solid QB play for the first time in many many years.
