A lot of people want to see the switch to the 3-4. I personally like the 3-4, but I like the 4-3 a lot too. And although it might make Posluszny mad, it's the coaches decision, and the defensive coordinator that might come in, might want to make the switch. This is how I think the Jaguars can have a successful 2013 3-4 defense.
Defensive End: CJ Mosley, Tyson Alualu
Nose Tackle: Casey Hampton(free agent; PIT), Sylvester Williams(3rd round pick; North Carolina)
Defensive End: Kawann Short(2nd round pick; Purdue), D'Anthony Smith
Inside Linebacker: Paul Posluszny, Russel Allen
Inside Linebacker: Daryl Smith, Nico Johnson(4th round pick; Alabama)
Cornerback: Derek Cox, Mike Harris, Kevin Rutland
Free Safety: Dwight Lowery
There you have it. Very good D-Line. Mosley is a good player, Hampton is an aging vet, but he's still talented, and will be for a couple more years, while Sylvester Williams develops behind him. Short is a really good player, who squats over 600 pounds, and benches over 400 pounds, he's a very strong player, and has very long arms. He had 6 sacks and 11 batted down passes this year. The Inside Linebackers are very good vets as we know. Connor Barwin is a very good player we steal from the Texans, he's young too. And Dion Jordan is an Aldon Smith type player. He's 6'7" 240 lbs, and is an incredible pass rusher. He's a DE/OLB that moves like a safety. Then the DBs we got Cox and Porter which would be pretty good, along with Lowery and Landry.
